It
just so happens that as soon as we cross Diwali, we enter celebration season. There
are birthdays, anniversaries and, of course, December with all its
christmasness…
Being
in such festive mode got me thinking… what is the one sure thing to make the
day feel special, no matter what the occasion? And then it came to me:
breakfast! …duh!
You
are bound to feel festive, if you get up to the smell of fresh coffee, beautiful
table and deliciously assembled breakfast, no matter what you have planned for
the rest of the day. And isn’t it just the best thing, to start the day with
the smile and this feeling of excitement for what’s coming next?
Fortunately,
it doesn’t necessarily mean getting up before dawn and slaving in the kitchen
for hours. If it did, I would be the first to vote for planin, old bawl of cereals…
I like my sleep long and uninterrupted!
When
it comes to special breakfast, I follow few simple rules: small portions,
variety and cuteness. The truth is, even the simplest food looks ten times
better in miniature. Like mini heart shaped pancakes, tiny sandwiches or
muffins… how cute is that!
Fruits are always a good idea. Somehow they make any
breakfast look like way more work than it actually was, plus they add lovey
colors to the plate.
Small dessert is the decadent cherry on top. Who doesn’t secretly dream of dessert for breakfast?! I wouldn’t go to heavy though, after all you don’t want to overshadow, let’s say, birthday cake! Just a scoop of ice cream with pancakes or a piece of fruit tart will do…

I
always like to have fresh juice, smoothie or milkshake ready for special occasions.
It takes few extra minutes to prepare, but it brings the breakfast affair to
the whole other level. And that’s the point, isn’t it?
